Most children and youth living in poverty lack the resources and supportive environment that they need to excel in school. Because of this, they have a higher chance of dropping out of school or engaging in manual labor at an early age. To fill this gap, our After School Program provides free tutorials and mentorship for students in grade school and high school. The lessons are focused on three core subjects: English, Math, and Science. Aside from this, the program instills discipline and teamwork through various group activities and encourages children to explore special interests such as music and arts.
Due to the pandemic crisis, our children and scholars are unable to attend this program, usually done every Sunday morning after the Hunger Relief Program. But you can still be their much-need volunteer teacher and be able to share your time, talent, and treasure! We have adapted the Online After School Program where our scholars continue to receive the opportunity to learn the topics at their homes via our Online Learning Channel. Since its launch in October 2020, we are grateful to have online learning volunteers who gladly shared their time and knowledge to teach our scholars!
