“Saying Hello to our Future Teachers”
We in Project Pearls After School Program are trying to mold our future leaders.
As for our goal in ASP, we try to teach the minds, touch the hearts and transform the lives of our PEARLS kids.
So as early as now, we are training them to be the best that they could be in the future.
So, what happened for this day?
As the volunteers entered the courtyard, the first thing they did was to prepare the food for the almost 300 kids.
When it was done, a brief orientation was facilitated by Jedda, our ASP coordinator.
We welcomed the new set of volunteers and discussed to them some of the volunteer’s guidelines.
The kids then entered the courtyard and the first activity, as usual, was the opening prayer, sing and dance and then it was feeding.
Volunteers assisted the kids.
When the children were done eating, they were given the task to do a thank you card for the sponsors.
Such creative and grateful students they were!
Then after the card-making was the teaching proper.
Volunteer-teachers and student/scholar-teachers were on the duty zone.Each teacher handled 2-3 kids.We focused on the Filipino subject and to the students’ reading comprehension.
