It was another day of learning and fun at Helping Land!
First of all, we would like to say thank you to Makati Rotary Club for being our sponsor for this day. Aside from that, they also hosted some parlor games for the kids.
So here’s the recap of what happened on this one fine Saturday morning at Helping Land.
When these young ones entered the courtyard and patiently waited for the sponsors and other volunteers,
we had some quality time with them.
A girl sang a song for us and to entertain her co-kids!
Some of the lively and playful kids even volunteered to dance at the center!
Yes, we do have a bunch of talented and promising kids hidden in this not -so-good, full of trash, filthy, and worst slum community in Tondo.
Nevertheless, this place are filled with joyous, warm, loving and hopeful people- especially its children.
Although poverty hit them really hard, smiles on their faces, happy hello’s, warm welcomes, big hugs and longing for caring eyes are present all over the community.
Smiles are contagious. At the middle of the day, you will find yourself smiling even when you’re alone because of the feeling that you did something so fulfilling and good.
Experience it to believe it! *winks*
Getting back to our story, when the sponsors already arrived, the kids happily welcomed them.
Along with the other volunteers who came for this day, the Makati Rotary Club members- that included different stages of life – from high schooler to golden age (she let the kids call her “Lola”), prepared food for the feeding program.
After the preparation, food was served.
Thank you so much to our ever hardworking and dedicated volunteers!
God can already manage the blessings you deserve. *winks again*
And then the Brain Booster followed.
For this day’s activity, kids created extra special and extra ordinary bookmarks! Their creativity, colorful and wild imaginations were boosted once again. A big thanks to our Brain Booster Coordinator, Christine Sim for all the wonderful ideas you shared with the kids.
Makati Rotary Club conducted some parlor games for our kids and gave them prizes.
Afterwards, as for the finale, our sponsor also gave some gifts to our grateful children.

To our volunteers who never get tired, countless thanks to all of you. Thanks for sparing some time with the kids!
