Learning Together Through the Marungko Approach | After School Program

August 1, 2026

Our After School Program (ASP) learners from Bulacan and Tondo continue to strengthen their reading skills through engaging lessons using the Marungko Approach—helping young learners build foundational literacy skills step by step.

Beyond learning, ASP also creates opportunities for our older scholars to become mentors and role models for younger children.

Meet Charlyn,16 years old, Grade 11, who shared her experience as an ASP mentor:

“Ang natutunan ko po sa ASP ay ang kahalagahan ng pagbabahagi ng kaalaman sa ibang tao. Masaya po ako dahil nabigyan ako ng pagkakataong makapagturo sa maraming bata at makita silang natututo.”

For Charlyn, teaching is not only about sharing what she knows—it is also about learning, connecting, and making a difference in the lives of younger children.

We are grateful for young mentors like Charlyn who generously share their time, knowledge, and patience to help others learn. Together, we continue creating spaces where children learn, youth lead, and communities grow.
