2019 PEARLS CHRISTMAS EVENTS

(December 22-24, 2019)

Tondo, Manila and Batia, Bulacan

Truly, December is the busiest month for us in Project Pearls. Aside from the daily feeding, we also have special events for PEARLS children and families.

Last December 22-24, we had the distribution of Noche Buena Packs for poor families and toys for the kids in Manila, Bulacan and even Zamboanga Sibugay.

Here’s the three-day special events that we had for the month of December 2019:

Day 1: December 22, 2019 – Distribution of Noche Buena Packs for families in Tondo, Manila.

For our Adopt a PEARLS Family campaign, we had 700+ beneficiaries in Tondo, Manila. These families are from the poorest communities such as Aroma, Happy Land, Helping Land, Smokey Mountain, Estero and more.

Our special event for this day took place at the covered court in Barangay 106, Tondo with families lining up as early as six o’clock in the morning .

While our beneficiaries were patiently waiting outside, PEARLS volunteers from different countries and all walks of lives, gathered inside the courtyard to prepare for the noche buena food pack distribution.

A brief orientation for the volunteers was led by Peachy Abellon, one of our core volunteers.

After the orientation and delegation of tasks, every volunteer continued preparing and doing the tasks assigned to them. Just like last year, there were several stations on claiming food packs and special gifts for the families.

At 7AM, the gates opened and beneficiaries were brought inside the courtyard and distribution of Noche Buena packs and special gifts for these families began.

Thank you so much to all the donors and sponsors for making this event possible and a success!

And of course, to our hardworking volunteers, hats off to all of you! We deeply appreciate all our Project PEARLS volunteers!

Day 2: December 23, 2019 – Distribution of Noche Buena Packs for Bulacan Families and Toys for the Kids

The following day, the whole team headed to Barangay Batia. This is our adopted community located in Bocaue, Bulacan. Most of the families living here now came from Ulingan, Tondo, our initial adopted community.

Because of our Project Pearls generous donors and volunteers, 1200+ kids received Christmas gifts and 500 families had a special meal for Christmas!

For this celebration in Bulacan, selected PEARLS kids presented special numbers to entertain us. This was also their way of saying ‘Thank You’ to everyone who supports and continues to help them. We truly have a lot of talented kids in Bulacan!

And finally, just like in Tondo, Manila, we had the distribution of Noche Buena Packs and gifts.

This day was again a success!

We thank all our volunteers from different parts of the Philippines; as well as abroad, including California, Virginia, Canada, Singapore, Hawaii and Seoul! Thank you so much for spending your precious day helping and giving holiday cheers to everyone!

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Christmas packs were sent and distributed to our community in  Zamboanga Sibugay!

Thank you special Santas around the globe for adopting PEARLS families this Christmas!

Day 3: December 24, 2019 – Christmas Party and Distribution of Gifts for Tondo Kids

On Christmas Eve, 1600+ children living in the poorest communities in Manila had a merry day! Holiday cheers were given to them and of course new toys as special gifts!

The day started with the orientation of volunteers and delegation of tasks to each volunteer.

Some volunteers were assigned as Team Leaders for group of kids, while others were designated at the Food and Gifts Station. Team Leader volunteers were assigned to manage and supervise groups of 50 kids. In this way, the event was organized and all the children were taken care of.

Just like in Bulacan, we have some talented kids in Tondo! There were kids who performed Holiday numbers to entertain everyone.

A special guest also visited us for an amazing performance. He’s none other than Abe Velasco of, “The Golden Show”! Kids were all smiles while watching his feats of balance and acrobatics.

After the performances, kids had their meals which were generously sponsored by Bacolod Chicken Inasal.

And when they were done eating, distribution of gifts was the next activity. These gifts came from our Christmas Toy Drive supporters and sponsors. We are beyond grateful to all our Christmas Heroes for supporting our annual campaigns.

This day ended with everyone’s grateful hearts.

We will never get tired expressing our deep gratitude to all the sponsors, donors and volunteers who supported our mission throughout the years. Project PEARLS is almost a decade old and we couldn’t thank enough all the generous souls who’s always there to support all our programs and campaigns for the children and families living in extreme poverty.

It is true that not all heroes wear capes and not all angels wear wings. Many just wears Project Pearls in their hearts!

Special thanks to our volunteer-photographer Sidney Snoeck for all the amazing photos!
