Cassie Eng is not only a dedicated Project PEARLS volunteer, she is also one of the youngest. At 12 years old, Cassie created her own fundraiser for our PEARLS children titled “Bag of Dreams Challenge.”
My Bag of Dreams Challenge is now on its 3rd year of giving. In the past 2 years with the help of generous sponsors, 900 students from impoverished communities in Lucena, Bulacan, and Zambales have received gifts of hope in the form of high quality backpacks with school supplies. This year I have chosen to adopt another community also supported by Project PEARLS.
My wish is to bring my Bag of Dreams to another 300 students from Dasal Elementary School in Guimaras (an island in the Visayas) when I celebrate my 13th birthday in the Philippines this August. The timeframe for this project is short, but I believe with your help we can do this!!
The students of Dasal Elementary come from families whose main livelihood include farming and fishing. Despite their meager incomes, they strive to send their children to school in pursuit of a better future. The school is in a rural area of the Philippines, accessible only by ferry, where there is no internet access. Let’s keep the dream of an education alive for the kids of Dasal Elementary.
Join me in this 30 day challenge to raise funds for 300 bags of hope. With every $20 donation, you can help a child take a step in reaching his/her true potential. You will receive a picture of the child you sponsor and each bag you donate will have a tag with your name on it. I will personally deliver the bags to Guimaras this August.
Thank you for your support!
