The PEARLS Scholarship Program
We have 62 scholars for the 2011-2012 school year attending public elementary school.
To many, breaking the cycle of poverty is almost impossible specially for those who are experiencing it and barely surviving it. Poverty doesn't have to be permanent specially for children. Education does make a huge difference and maybe their only way out of poverty.
Giving the gift of education will give our children in Ulingan a lifeline out of poverty. Project PEARLS launched the PEARLS Scholarship Program to help our children go to school and stay in school.
The total annual cost to sponsor a scholar is P7,200 or $180 and this will cover two sets of school uniforms, a pair of shoes, school bag with school supplies, allowance for their fare, food, school projects and school field trip expenses and other extra school supplies needed.
